Elanguest is a British owned and run independent English Language School in Malta

English Language for Guests

Our name and why we chose it

The name Elanguest comes from the term ‘English Language for guests’, and that’s precisely what we do; we view our students as our guests and the whole ethic of the school has always been to create a friendly, relaxed atmosphere in which the teaching of English can be coupled with a great stay in Malta.
Our goal is quality teaching in a quality environment with quality service – and we’ve been doing it successfully for over 20 years.

Who started the school?

David and Ursula West
Having taught at one of England’s most prestigious private schools, founder David West’s focus was always on academia and the benefit of students.
We wanted, from the start, to make Elanguest a place where the focus on academic success really worked hand in hand with the community that is the school.

We plan classes, group students, organize excursions and arrange all aspects of the school with this goal in mind

Keeping Quality High

Elanguest is a British-owned and run indepedent language school
The method for ensuring a high standard is simple; we choose our teachers carefully, support them through teacher training and communication, keep our syllabus constantly and closely monitored and get to know our students so that they get the time and attention they need.
As a school, structure and discipline are very important because we really do take our students’ education seriously. By working together with our students to make the most of their time here, our students really can relax and enjoy the island knowing that their studies are on track.

Our Staff

A school is all about people, so as far as our staff are concerned, any questions, any time, we’re there to help you in any way we can during your stay. Our office is always open.

Our Online Community - six months free online support for every student

Our online community is designed to mirror the way the school works, with our free tutoring forums offering free language support to every student for six months after they’ve completed their course. Again, our goal is to bring our school community online and really give our students the best help possible. If you don’t understand something, have a grammar question, or need help with any aspect of English, our teachers will be happy to answer your questions in the forums, and if you just want to use the community to keep in touch with us or friends you’ve made, that’s fine too.

Attendance Certificate - All students attending any language course at Elanguest are given a CEFR Standard Certificate of Achievement.

External exam students will receive their international certification when the school receives it from the overseas Examining Body. They will also receive an internal End of Course Certificate from Elanguest on their completion of the course.

Online Certificates– Students must have completed at least 80% of online coursework and have paid for the extra option of Attendance Certificate. This will involve a live interview using video conferencing software.

Elanguest language school is a member the Association of International British Schools (AIBSE) The school is dedicated to St. Pio of Pietrelcina .
