If your country is NOT listed above, it means you may Not require a visa for periods up to 90 days. It's always best to check with your local embassy, even if you don't need a visa, to see how long you're allowed to stay in Malta.

Other visa exemptions:

  • Chinese nationals, who are holders of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR);
  • MACAO citizens in possession of a “Regio Administrativa Especial de Macao”;
  • Holders of passports bearing the inscription “Sovereign Military Order of Malta”;
  • Holders of travel documents issued to refugees in accordance with the Geneva Convention of 1951, provided issued by one of the signatory states of the Strasbourg Agreement of 1959;
  • Holders of travel documents issued to refugees and stateless persons and other persons, who do not hold the nationality of a country but who reside in an EU or EEA Member State, including Switzerland and who are holders of a travel document issued by that country.

Notes:

Visitors requiring a visa to enter Malta and who undertake day trips of less than 24 hours to another country are exempted from applying and paying for another visa on their re-entry to Malta.

Students of other nationalities can apply for visas at their consulate in their respective country or at the Maltese Embassy.

Elanguest will provide a letter of acceptance to students who are eligible to apply. This is required by the immigration authorities.

Should students need a visa extension while they are in Malta, we are also able to help them.
