These are Elanguest's terms and conditions.
Please read them before booking a course.
All bookings are subject to availability. No booking has been accepted until Elanguest has issued an invoice to the student or agent. Each member of a group booked by a third party is bound by these conditions. The third party is responsible for informing the students about these terms and conditions.
As soon as a booking is received an invoice is issued advising of the total amount due and requesting immediate payment of a 20% non-refundable deposit. Confirmation of the booking cannot be issued, until Elanguest has received the deposit. All monies should be paid via bank transfer and a copy of the bank transfer document sent to Elanguest. Any bank charges/fees must be paid by the student and included in the transfer amount.
In exceptional circumstances other methods of payment may be accepted at the discretion of Elanguest
The balance of all bookings must be received at least 2 weeks before arrival date.
For bookings made within 14 days of arrival date, our bookings department will inform you how to make your payment.
Should a hotel be booked, the student must comply with the hotel terms and conditions and pay the relevant deposit amount accordingly.
For all airport transfers, full flight details must be received at the school no later than 7 days before the date of arrival. Elanguest will not be held responsible for costs incurred by the student in arranging their own transport and no refund for the Arrival Transfer fee will be given.
Students wishing to book a Departure Transfer, after their arrival, can do so provided that the booking is made no later than 3 days before the date of departure.
On the first day of their course, new students should arrive at the school at 07.30am to take their placement test. If any changes are made to this arrangement, the students will be notified in advance.
Course fees include all tuition and course material. This does not include extra reference books, workbooks or dictionaries, which are available at the school.
Courses are taught from levels A1 to C2 (Beginner to Proficiency)
Course Type - Entry Levels
With all courses, including requests for changes in level or class, Elanguest reserves the right to place a student into a class according to the results of a placement or assessment test, which will be administered by the school at the start of their course or on a request to change.
Students wishing to attend a Cambridge exam course will be asked to complete a written assignment at the time of booking. This pre-assessment allows us to suggest which exam course may be possible for their level of English. On their first day at school, exam students are fully assessed across all skill areas. Elanguest can then confirm which is the best exam course for them to take. The final decision on which exam course a student attends rests with the school.
Reduction of Lessons
The table below shows how tuition hours are reduced when only one student is booked on a group course.

The public holidays falling on weekdays in 2015 are detailed in the table below:
The school will be closed on public holidays and no lessons will be given. Should a public holiday fall on a weekday, the lost hours will be partially made up over the remaining four days. If there are 2 public holidays falling within the same week, these days will not be charged for and lessons will be given as normal over the remaining 3 days.
Course Changes after Arrival
If a student wishes to upgrade their course or change to one of a higher price, they must pay the difference in fees in full before the change can take place. If they are changing to private lessons, an administration fee of €50 may also be applied. Should a student decide to downgrade their course or change to one of a lower price, no refund will be given.
Students will be asked to wait for the following class session if they arrive 15 or more minutes late for the start of any lesson.
Elanguest reserves the right to refrain from issuing a Course Certificate to any student who misses more than 20% of their course - for no valid reason. Elanguest determines the level of English detailed on the certificate.
For Elanguest apartments, we reserve the right to charge for extra, unused, days for weekday arrivals and departures.
Charges will be set at the following rates:

Check in and out Times
Students may remain in their apartment until their departure time, but must have checked out of their room by 11:00. Elanguest is not responsible for unprepared rooms should a new student arrive before 14:00 hours.
Students are responsible for the day-to-day cleaning of their apartment. Elanguest will prepare bedrooms for new arrivals; clean the apartment’s common areas and change bed linen and towels once a week. The changing of bed linen and cleaning of the apartment may be on separate days. Students must respect the Apartment Rules that are given to every student and displayed in all the school’s apartments. Any transgression of these rules can be a reason for eviction from the accommodation.
If any damage is caused by students to either property of the school or belongings of third parties contracted by the school, they must pay for the damage(s) immediately directly to the school. Elanguest expects all students to respect the right of fellow students to a safe and orderly environment within the school’s apartments and host families
Elanguest accepts no obligation to return course fees to no-shows or to any student who is unable to complete his/her course.
Should a refund be given for any reason after full payment has been received, Elanguest will charge an administration fee of €50 and deduct any relevant bank charges from the payment. For cancellation policies before or after arrival, see below.

Course cancellation after arrival
If a course is cancelled after the start date no refund is given. In exceptional circumstances Elanguest, may at its discretion, apply a partial refund.
If a student cancels their course, any accommodation booked through Elanguest, with the exception of hotel bookings, is automatically cancelled and the relevant accommodation cancellation charges applied.

These are subject to the cancellation fees, which are stated in the hotel’s price list. Please read these carefully before booking. In confirming your booking, you are confirming acceptance of the hotel’s cancellations fees and terms and conditions sent to you with their prices.
If a student has booked a host family or an apartment through Elanguest, and subsequently cancels their course – their accommodation will automatically be cancelled as well, and the relevant accommodation cancellation charges applied.
If, at anytime throughout their course, students are not happy with any aspect of their stay, they are to inform the school in writing before their departure. No complaint can be accepted at, or near the end of their course if it has not been clearly brought to the school’s attention as explained above.
The school reserves the right to expel any student from the school or accommodation if they are acting in a way which is detrimental to the school, accommodation, host family or other students. In such cases, the school is under no obligation to make any refund or cover any expenses brought about by this action. Furthermore, the school will not be held responsible for repatriation expenses.
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that they obtain all documentation (passport, visa etc.) required for entry into the country, and to make themselves aware of any legal requirement or restriction that would hinder or prevent them from travelling. Elanguest will not be held liable if a student is refused entry into any country for any reason. The student is solely responsible for complying with formalities required by police, customs or health authorities at the point of departure or arrival, at a particular destination, or whilst in transit.
The student is responsible for obtaining adequate travel insurance, including coverage for cancellations, health insurance, loss and theft of baggage, money and personal items, emergency evacuation, or for any other eventuality that may occur before, after or during the student’s journey and for the duration of their stay. Elanguest shall in no way be deemed responsible for any costs incurred as a result of the student having no or insufficient insurance cover. Elanguest is not to be held liable for loss, theft, damage or injury to persons or personal property.
Elanguest shall not be held liable for any failure of, or the delay in the performance of, its services for any period that such failure or delay is due to causes beyond its reasonable control. This includes but is not limited to: acts of God, war, threat of war, strikes or labour disputes, disease, embargoes, government orders or any other force majeure event.
Photography and Filming
Elanguest may take promotional photographs and film footage of students. If students do not wish to participate, Elanguest will respect their wishes. It is the students’ responsibility to absent themselves from the photograph or recording by making it known at the time, that they do not wish to appear in any photo or video.
If a situation arises that has not been covered by the above Terms and Conditions, we reserve the right to take any fair and reasonable action that we think is appropriate.
